Merchant Marines Earn Warbird Park Memorial

Warbird Park has a memorial honoring all Merchant Marine veterans. Over 9,000 Merchant Marines lost their lives during World War II.

Merchant Marines assisted the war efforts by transporting supplies, troops, tanks, and planes to the front.

The John T. Schmidt Palmetto Mariners Chapter of South Carolina is sponsoring the monument.
